The PLUS FIVE is an expansion module designed to build directly on top of the DIY THREE, adding a dedicated Linux companion system while retaining the compact, modular nature of the original case. It consists of a carrier board combined with additional case components that physically extend the DIY THREE enclosure, creating a neatly integrated dual-system setup without increasing desk clutter. At the heart of the PLUS FIVE is a Compute Module 5 running at up to 2.3GHz, supplied with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of eMMC storage as standard. This provides a responsive and capable Linux environment that operates independently of RISC OS, yet remains closely linked via a high-speed connection. Out of the box, the FIVE is intended as a companion to RISC OS but optional configurations and upgrades allow the potential for increased memory capacity and the addition of NVMe storage, enabling the Linux companion to be tailored for more demanding workloads. The PLUS FIVE is intended to run continuously alongside RISC OS, providing access to modern Linux applications, services, and tooling without replacing or interfering with the primary system. Files, services, and applications can be shared between the two environments over the network, allowing RISC OS to remain the main user- facing platform while Linux handles complementary tasks in the background. By extending the existing DIY THREE rather than introducing a separate external unit, the PLUS FIVE maintains a clean, unified system design. It offers a practical way to add Linux capability—such as modern networking services, development tools, or background processing—while preserving the simplicity, efficiency, and character of a RISC OS-based workstation. Technical Specification Processor Speed: overclocked up to 2.3GHz Memory: 4GB SSD Storage: Optional NVMe Networking: Gigabit Ethernet port and integrated WIFI option USB ports: 2 rear Audio/Video: Audio over HDMI Twin full sized HDMI ports Up to 3840x2160 HDMI graphics eMMC: 64GB for OS, boot and storage OS and Software: Raspberry Pi OS Trixie Case: Veneered unfinished oak slices - 140mm x 120mm x 60mm Power and activity indicator LED Options: 8GB RAM upgrade from 4GB NVMe Drive 5v 5a PSU
